So, for my first blog post in a while (sorry!) I'm stealing an idea from a good friend and starting 2011 on the blog with a recap of 2011. This turned out to be a LOT harder than I thought and totally supports my resolution to be better about taking & organizing photos, and actually putting albums together!
January
January is always pretty low-key for us and last year was no exception. I finally got my dream yellow kitchen-aid, we did a lot of fun dinners with friends & supported my nephew who was playing basketball for the first time.
February - March
I like to think of these as the "lost months" because I chose not to take any pictures! Boo! I do know that we were very busy at work submitting for award shows at the agency (where we won a TON of awards), B & I went to a Pat Green concert with friends, during which I was interviewed for a live radio segment (drunk) and got to meet Pat (drunk). At the end of March, we attended a friend's wedding in Floria and then spent some time in the Keys. I am officially bummed not to have pictures.
April
April was a BIG MONTH!
B's family came down for a visit which was SO fun!
We headed to Tennessee for the wedding of a good family friend (where B was harrassed by all of my parent's friends about us not being engaged).
May
We did a LOT of celebrating in May.
We celebrated with friends who got engaged the weekend after we did:
We headed back to Charleston for the wedding of some good friends, then spent the next weekend (Memorial Day) on the lake:
June
June was a really fun month for us. B and I spent a ton of time on the lake (thanks mom and dad for letting us use the boat so much!). We also spent the day wine tasting with friends, for one of their 30th birthdays. My best friend and maid of honor also come down from New York to help me shop for wedding dresses, which was SO fun. We had a great dinner with my parents to celebrate my birthday and then spent the rest of the weekend on the lake.
July - August
We did a lot of wedding planning in July & August. I started this blog :)
We saw Widespread...and Jack Johnson in concert. In early August we headed to Memphis for my cousin's wedding and had a great time on Beale Street (again, no pictures, boo!) We also spent a lot of time at the lake (it really was the summer of the lake) and spent time with friends.
September
September was memorable because we had our first engagement party. It was SUCH a fun weekend, and we were so grateful to be surrounded by family and friends for our first big wedding-related event. Unfortunately we did not get a lot of pictures. I have no idea why we didn't think about this in advance, but no one did. Hindsight really is 20-20 :(
The last weekend in September we headed down to Florida with B's family for B's 30th birthday!
October
This is when things really started to get crazy! We adopted a new dog:
We went down to Wrightsville for a good family friend's wedding:
We had a mini college reunion at a good friend's wedding in Chapel Hill:
November
Things calmed down (thank god!) because we got really busy at work! We were able to sneak away to the Biltmore. We also spent the holidays with B's family in Virginia. I won't bore you with pictures since I already posted most to the blog!
December
What better way to end the year than with a trip to California with my parents and B? It was a super fun trip, and I'll post more pics in an upcoming post. For now, enjoy these:
All in all it was a great year and it's been fun to look back. I am SUPER excited for 2011 since this is the year we get married. Woohoo, two thumbs up to that!
Happy 2011!
Um, hi again! I hope one of your New Year's resolutions is to keep this updated more - I love staying in touch with it! You forgot your trips to Georgia and NOLA in October, but I'll forgive you (especially since we have zero pictures to show for those!)
ReplyDeleteYou're right! I also had one date wrong. Seriously, this just shows how important it is to keep photos organized! Definitely a goal this year! And am hopefully back to more regular blogger, it is a great way to stay connected.
